There are 7 playable characters in the game, namely Sonic, Tars, Narc, Amy, Rocky, Shiftle and Blaze. Each character has their own exclusive skills, and different skills will be able to play different roles in the levels.

There are two modes in the game, the story mode and the arcade mode. In the story mode, the player has to smash Dr. Slug's evil plans according to the plot; in this mode, the level map and the end point are fixed and will not change. In Arcade mode, on the other hand, the springboards are randomly generated and there is no set end point, allowing players to make unlimited sprints to reach higher heights in this mode.

In either mode, the player controls the character in the same way. The character will automatically jump upwards after landing on the pedal, and the player simply changes the left and right movement of the character by tilting their device. Tapping the screen allows the character to continue a jump on top of the automatic jump. As you control your character's jumps, you will also collect gold rings in the level, which can be used to purchase game items. The course is also full of traps and enemies, and each level will have different obstacles, with more and more obstacles as you progress through the game.
